With the Government advising the UK to avoid gatherings and social activities, you must be wondering how coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) could affect your shooting insurance. Lots of our policyholders have been asking what they’re covered for, so we’ve put together this FAQ page to address your concerns. Here’s how coronavirus affects your shooting insurance.
With shooting ranges now closed, does my insurance cover me for practising in my garden or on my own land?
The announcement earlier in the week means we are all very much in unchartered waters. We very much support the government’s new rules for us all to stay home to stop the spread of the virus, however we appreciate that will mean you’ll be unable to take part in the shooting activities you usually would at this time of year. If you want to keep practicing during this period however, then we’re pleased to say that our insurance will cover against any accidents that happen on your own land.
Please note that you need to get permission by the owner of any neighbouring land to do your chosen activity if there is a chance your practicing could impact their property. Please check our insurance documents for terms and conditions of cover.
Are there any age restrictions on my policy?
Our insurance has no age restrictions so if you want to use this time at home to teach your children a new hobby, or take up one yourself, It’s quick and easy to make sure the entire family is covered.
Can I cover the entire family on one policy?
We don’t offer family policies but each member of your family can take out their own individual policy and you’ll all be covered. Plus you’ll all receive 25% off each new policy. And we also offer a referral scheme so you could refer another member of your family and you’ll get £10 cash for each one that takes out a policy. Find out more here.
Would I be covered for practicing archery?
One activity we’ve seen a lot of interest in has been Archery, it’s great fun and if you’ve never tried it before, now might be the perfect time to give it a go. Your current policy would still cover you, so you could give it a go with peace of mind that you’re insured.
